Tire Description

The Symmetry radial is Michelin's All-Season tire comfort-tuned for full-sized luxury cars and minivans. Symmetry tires meet Michelin's Green X standard* for low rolling resistance that confirms the tire's contribution to reducing vehicle fuel consumption and emissions of CO2 gases. Symmetry radials were developed to provide balanced proportions of ride quality, noise comfort and overall performance, as well as year-round traction, even in occasional light snow. Symmetry radials use a weather-tuned tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design featuring wide, serrated circumferential tread grooves that evacuate water from under the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The tread's interlocking "S"-shaped sipes provide biting edges to enhance traction in light snow. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts under the tread to provide strength on top of a polyester cord body that promotes a smooth ride. The application of the Green X symbol is determined by laboratory testing on a model-by-model, size-by-size basis. I bought my first set after a blow out with cheap tires left me with two ruined steel rims. I replaced all for rims with a set of factory aluminum rims and a full set of Michelin Symmetry S rated. I'm a 25 year old man so I tend to drive with a lead foot and although I don't expect a lot as far as performance these tires worked great on my full sized Crown Victoria. Living in Louisiana wet weather driving and poor roads are very common and the Symmetry work well at keeping my car under control, the ride comfortable and quiet on the interstate. I have recently purchased my second set and I am still very pleased at the balance of luxury and control.
