It was developed to blend some of the looks and handling of a performance tire with the reduced noise and ride comfort associated with a premium passenger tire, as well as provide year-round traction, even in light snow. On the outside, the Pilot HX MXM4 features a weather-tuned tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design to provide traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads. The independent tread blocks provide snow biting edges and are combined with circumferential grooves to evacuate water out from under the tire's footprint to reduce hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Internally, the Pilot HX MXM4 features twin steel belts reinforced by Michelin's BAZ (Banded At Zero) spiral-wrapped polyamide cord to stabilize the tread area and enhance treadwear, handling and high-speed capability. The Pilot HX MXM4 features a polyester cord body to provide a smooth ride. Click For Price Customer Reviews I don't review often but these things are amazing....When I purchased my Volvo XC90 used at just under 70K I figured it would need tires soon. We drive this truck everywhere and have put 20K+ on it in 7 months. We Drove in the worst snow storm in thru Monroe MI and Toledo OH Febuary 6th and these things didn't give me any reason to worry. Drove it in the mountains of TN last week and never questioned them. The only reason I'm replacing them is because I noticed today that they are actually into the wear bars and my wife travels for work pretty regularly. I've had no problems at all, just checked the pressure this morning and they haven't even gone more than 2 pounds low since I bought the truck. Michelins are definetly expensive so make your own decision, but I'll share my first hand knowledge if it helps: The ones on my Volvo are almost definetly original. I also had a S10 Blazer years ago with Michelins (don't remember the model) I drove them till one blew just to see how long they would last and it was like 77k. My dad drives a Town car that he bought new and he just put his 4th set of Michelin Symmetry tires (O.E) on it at 220,000K. If you drive alot and are planning on keeping your car another 70K+ than Michelins are money well spent. |
