Energy MXV4 Plus tires are Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tires developed to meet the needs of sporty coupe and luxury performance sedan drivers. Energy MXV4 Plus tires meet Michelin's Green X standard* for low rolling resistance that confirms the tire's contribution to reducing vehicle fuel consumption and emissions of CO2 gases. Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus tires are designed to offer a high level of comfort, long tread life and all-season traction, including in light snow. Energy MXV4 Plus tires incorporate Michelin's Radial XSE Technology (which consists of a Smart Tread Compound, Optimized Casing Shape and Optimized Mass Distribution) and use Michelin's silica-based rubber compounds that help resist wear, improve fuel economy, and hold the road. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design incorporating offset shoulder and diagonal intermediate blocks that are designed to "flow" through the contact patch for a quiet ride. The tire's structure includes a rounded casing shape to provide predictable handling, and has been optimized to equalize the tire's footprint pressure and extend tread life. BAZ Technology (spirally wrapped nylon, Banded At Zero degrees) reinforces the Energy MXV4 Plus' twin steel belts to provide high-speed durability while it helps maintain ride comfort. The application of the Green X symbol is determined by laboratory testing on a model-by-model, size-by-size basis. This is my second set of Michelin OEM tires for my Acura. I have around 60,000 miles on them and there is still enough tread left to be legal on my state inspection. The sidewalls are starting to crack a little. They have been some great tires but I think I am going to have to try something different for my 3rd set. It's not because I don't like the tires but Michelin is going way overboard on their pricing. The cheapest I could find was $152.00 for one! With all the mounting, balancing, road hazard, etc we were talking about $715 for a set. That's crazy. Plenty of other tires out there for a lot cheaper price and performance. Michelin likes there name to much. Another reason why I won't buy these again is I probably won't keep the car long enough to enjoy the longevity of the treadwear.
